Really enjoyed this one, John. I like the way you talked about film and fascism in particular. I feel like a lot of new films have a very fascistic undercurrent. Apparently there is a movie of the musical Wicked out now starring the pop star Ariana Grande. It has even more marketing tie ins than the Barbie movie. I haven’t seen it (and I don’t plan on it), but I would guess it is a lengthy reactionary advertisement…..
Out of curiosity, what do you think of the early Soviet film Man With a Movie Camera? I’ve enjoyed that one since I was little. (My dad showed it to me for the first time when I was five.)
